Back9 Network Interior

In the Fall of 2012, the Core Design Group design team was invited to design the worldwide headquarters of a start-up golf channel called “Back9 Network”. The start-up network and its investors, including Clint Eastwood and Ray Allen, were looking to establish a home base that reflected the personality, culture and prestige that would be Back9 Network.

Inspiration Studies: Core Design was initially tasked with developing multiple inspiration studies for the look and overall feel of the space. Based on their solutions, Core’s inspirations studies caught the CEO’s eye. Believing that the Core Design team understood their goals and vision, they were asked to come up with a few floor plan concepts of the entire space. See Images

Conceptual Floor Plans: After a site survey and project brief, Core developed 3 floor plan concepts of the 10th floor of the Phoenix building located in Hartford, Connecticut overlooking the Connecticut River. In addition to building on the look and feel of the inspiration studies, these plan concepts needed to include
- Reception / Hospitality Zone
- CEO’s office - Conference Area
- Think Tank - Admin Zone
- Collaboration Zone
- Production / Edit Area
- General offices

Initial Sketches: After the approval of plans, we begin the brainstorming ideas with sketches of some of the areas.
Color Rough Concepts: After a few rounds of revisions, a hybrid floor plan solution was created based on a combination of elements from floor plan concept A & B. Using the feedback from the initial inspiration studies Core created Color Rough Concepts three-dimensionally after modeling the entire 10th floor of the space. It was from these initial Color Concepts that the project began to build momentum and investor support, including a resounding “Kick Ass!” endorsement from Clint Eastwood upon seeing the Color Rough concepts created by Core Design Group. Color Finals Designs: Due to the timing of the project, different areas or Zones were more of a priority. Though Zones were occasionally developed individually, Core maintained the original vision established during the inspiration and floor plan study phases throughout the entire design. This phase reflects the combination of all of these areas into to one cohesive design. See Images

Sourcing / Material Specification: As the project spun in to high gear, Core working with the CEO and general contractor to specify materials, furniture and lighting that met the overall branding and timeline objectives. See Images

Final Installation Photos/Videos: These are photos and video tours that represent the final build out results and how great the entire Back9 Headquarters turned out. See Images
